Dock Maintenance Program

Protect your dock and enjoy greater peace of mind with Dependable Docks’ ongoing Maintenance Program. Our program is designed to keep your dock properly positioned as lake levels change, identify potential issues before they become costly repairs, and ensure your dock receives regular professional attention 2x a month.

Bi-Weekly Dock Inspections & Adjustments

As a Maintenance Program customer, our crew visits your dock every two weeks by boat. During each scheduled visit, we inspect the dock’s overall position and condition and adjust it in or out as needed based on current and anticipated lake levels.

We monitor lake conditions and the weather forecast for the upcoming two-week period, with the goal of keeping your dock as close to shore as safely possible while allowing for expected changes in water level.

What’s Included

During each bi-weekly visit, our technical crew follows a detailed inspection checklist to evaluate the condition of key dock components and identify items that may need attention.

The Maintenance Program includes:

  • Bi-weekly dock visits by boat

  • Dock positioning and adjustments based on lake levels and anticipated conditions

  • Moving the dock in or out along the existing path established by its anchors

  • Routine visual inspection of the dock and its components

  • A dated service placard signed by our crew so you know when we were last there

  • A photograph of your dock taken during each visit and maintained in our office records

  • A completed inspection report returned to our office for review

If our crew identifies a condition requiring repair or additional attention, you will contact you with our recommendations and associated costs if any before repair work is performed.

Anchor Adjustments

Routine dock movement along the path established by your existing anchors is included in the Maintenance Program.

Relocating or moving submerged anchors is not included. Submerged anchor work requires our heavy-duty crane boat rather than the maintenance skiff used for regular service visits. This type of work is generally only necessary during significant lake-level fluctuations or when anchors have shifted due to an unusual weather or lake event.

If submerged anchor work becomes necessary, we will contact you regarding the recommended work and associated cost.

Priority Service During Flood Events

During flood and other significant lake events, Maintenance Program customers receive priority service.

Rapidly changing lake conditions may require additional visits or adjustments beyond your regularly scheduled bi-weekly service.

Preventative Care

It is easy for our docks to be ignored at times, especially during the months we are not likely to use our boat docks as often as we like. However, small things may go unnoticed that could lead to costly repairs later on. Let our professionals come out and assess your dock. We will take time to investigate your dock, cables, lifts and other accessories and structures and make any recommendations for repairs or improvements. No matter what kind of decking materials your dock has, regular maintenance is necessary year round to prevent larger issues from snowballing. You wouldn’t avoid going to the dentist for years, only to find out you have a dozen cavities and need a root canal! Costly repairs can be prevented with regular maintenance.
